The first thing that will happen is you will get an email from us via Google indicating that you have been accepted. Simply go into your dashboard and view your proposal which will indicate that it has been accepted. You will then receive a follow up email from our Org Admin, which will contain a more personal welcome to you and will also be circulated to your project mentor and other relevant members of the HPCC Systems team.
Community Bonding Period
This period starts immediately after the acceptance emails have been sent. It lasts for almost a month and gives you and us time to get to know each other and establish communication links.
You and your mentor need to communicate regularly during this period to resolve any issues before the coding period starts. There may be more information you need, access to code or repositories, you will need a JIRA issue tracker account and you will need to get up to speed on how to check in code and become familiar with the review process.
You will be asked to join an introductory meeting with your mentor and the Org Admin so we can introduce ourselves to each other. It's an informal meeting where we will discuss some administrative items such as:
You will be able to ask any questions you may have and discuss what else you may need to get started.
When the Community Bonding Period is over, you need to be in a position to start coding right away. You really don't want to waste the first few weeks of coding getting setup, so use the Community Bonding Period wisely.
Get to know your mentor and speak up if you need help or advice.
